What we hold, and what we will never do with it.

If you fill in the enquiry form on this site, we collect your name, your school, your role, your email address, and anything else you choose to type — a phone number, a city, a message. Nothing else on this site collects personal information.

If your school uses Owtset and you sign in as a student, counsellor or parent, we hold what the product needs to work: your name, your school and class, what you have practised, and the universities you have shortlisted.

Enquiry details are used to reply to you and to arrange a conversation. Nothing more.

Student information is used to run the product for that student and to show their school and their parents progress they are entitled to see. It is not used to advertise to anyone.

We do not sell personal information. We do not pass a student’s details to a university, an agent or an advertiser without that student — or their parent, where they are a minor — asking us to.

Data is stored in India. Enquiry details are kept while a conversation is live and for two years afterwards. Student information is kept while their school uses Owtset, and deleted on request.

Most students using Owtset are minors. A student holds their own account; a parent can be invited to see their child’s progress, and only with the student’s action. Schools see students at their own school and no others.

We are building toward the requirements of India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act and the equivalent rules in the UAE. Where this notice and those rules disagree, the rules win.

Write to contact@owtset.com and we will tell you what we hold, correct it, or delete it. We will reply within thirty days, usually much sooner.
